The Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) extends its warmest congratulations to our young innovators for their outstanding achievements at the Malaysia International Young Inventors Olympiad (MIYIO) 2026, held from 17 to 20 September 2026 at Midtown Perda, Pulau Pinang.
Carrying the theme “Innovating for a Sustainable & Intelligent Future”, MIYIO 2026 brought together 548 teams and 1,644 young inventors from Malaysia, Thailand and India, offering participants an international platform to present inventive ideas and forward-looking solutions.
MCKK concluded the competition with an impressive haul of three Gold Awards, two Silver Awards and one Bronze Award, alongside additional recognition for two of its gold-winning projects.
Among the standout entries was Macaca Eco Defender, developed by Dayyan Hakeem Badrul Hisham, Asyraff Haniff Aidie and Muhammad Aazad Azizan. Their project earned a Gold Award and was further distinguished as one of the Top 5 Gold Award recipients. The team was mentored by Cikgu Amir.
Equally impressive was Chito-AC Zinc+ Grow Cubes, presented by Aaron Zhafri bin Nurzaki, Muhammad Qayyum Afifi bin Nor Hashmin and Luqman Lubawi bin Fakhrul Razi. In addition to receiving a Top 5 Gold Award, the project was also honoured with the Special Award for Best Poster. Cikgu Afiqah served as the team’s teacher advisor.
MCKK’s third gold medal came through PiliPat On Life, the work of Muhammad Syahir, Khalif Emir and Ahmad Haziq . Guided by Cikgu Afiqah, the trio added another Gold Award to the College’s strong showing at the competition.
The College also celebrated a Silver Award for BinMate Rover, represented by Muhammad Izhan, Muadz Zhufar, and Hydder Hafiz. Their achievement further contributed to MCKK’s commendable performance at MIYIO 2026, with Cikgu Afiqah providing guidance throughout the project.
Another Silver Award was brought home by Ilyas Zunaidi, Ilman Zarith and Muhamad Arif Moggon through their project, Beet Stitches. The team was similarly mentored by Cikgu Afiqah.
Completing MCKK’s medal tally was MarineSalt X, developed by Muhammad Altamis Azka, Tariq Yaaqub and Muhammad Hazim Qhalish, which received a Bronze Award. The project was undertaken under the guidance of Cikgu Afiqah.
These accomplishments reflect the creativity, perseverance and willingness of our pupils to turn ideas into purposeful innovations. They also bear testimony to the dedication of the teacher advisors whose guidance and encouragement played an important role throughout the teams’ journey.
MCKK congratulates all participating pupils and teacher advisors on representing the College with distinction. May this achievement inspire more members of the College community to explore invention and innovation, embrace new possibilities and continue developing meaningful solutions for a more sustainable and intelligent future.
